Description
Born in 1983, Anasuya Bommanaboina comes from the historical city of Warangal, Telangana, that is well known for its arts and culture. A self-taught artist, Anasuya’s paintings are deeply influenced by ancient Indian history.
Her deep coloured, vibrant and vivid paintings revolve around Hindu Gods and Goddesses. A frequent visitor of Hindu temples, Anasuya started observing the details in the gods’ and goddesses’ idols, their clothes, and decorations. She naturally gravitated towards choosing them as her subjects. She uses vibrant colours on a bright red background, to express her interpretations of these gods and goddesses. This gives the images of the gods and goddesses a contemporary touch. Anasuya’s main focus lies in painting their jewellery and the bells around her subjects. Unlike many other artists, who use gold leaf in their artworks, to paint the jewellery, crown, coins, etc. the artist uses acrylic colours and ink on paper and canvas, which makes these paintings even more unique.
Over her artistic career, Anasuya has has exhibited her works in numerous group shows across the country.
